About Lynette at Choose Life Counselling Auckland

 

Lynette is a warm, compassionate person and her relational approach to clients and others alike is one of respect, unconditional positive regard, and acceptance. Lynette has been married for 40 years and they have 3 adult daughters. She was born in New Zealand, although she spent 7 years living in Sydney with her family from 1998 till early 2005. This life experience has given her insights which are helpful when working with those who have issues such as grief due to immigration or relocation.

She was born in New Zealand, but while living in Sydney Lynette completed her counselling studies and graduated at Graduate Diploma level in April 2001. In 2003 she did further studies at the Australian College of Applied Psychology (ACAP), and attained Graduate Diploma level in Trauma Counselling, Crisis Counselling and Loss Counselling (Grief) after completing her Graduate Diploma in Christian Counselling. Previous to this she did a Diploma in Ministry. 

 

Lynette does a minimum of 40 hours of ongoing professional training and development each year and is a full member of NZCCA, which is a Professional Counsellors Association, and abides by their code of ethics.

In her counselling work with clients, in addition to her training and counselling experience, Lynette is also able to draw from the wisdom and valuable insights that she has gained from processing her own experiences of journeying through many difficult and challenging life experiences. These further empower her to help her clients who are experiencing challenging circumstances.

Her own journey of personal growth, along with her genuine love and compassion for hurting people, and her desire for them to be healed and have a better life, were all part of the catalyst for her to train to be a qualified, professional counsellor.

 

Lynette has had the privilege and experience of meeting and working with people from all walks of life and professions - doctors, mothers, personal assistants, IT, business owners, CEO's, General Managers, lawyers, students, nurses, retail, teachers, graphics, accountants, mechanics, engineers, plumbers, builders, sales, etc
